Tom has been sailing from an early age and has campaigned dinghies at national level, raced keel and sportsboats and skippered and crewed on Tallships as well as cruising extensively around the waters of the UK and abroad. He has significant experience of working with people from all backgrounds in a range of training settings and delivering successful RYA courses.

In addition they have a pool of experienced Yachtmaster Instructors,  carefully selected for their knowledge and abilities, they have years of experience running course up here on the beautiful West Coast.  Their aim is to ensure you have a fantastic experience in a safe, supportive and relaxed training environment where our staff will strive to to ensure your objectives are fully met.

The cost of Competent Crew, Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper courses is £475. If students wish to undertake the Yachtmaster Offshore or Coastal exam (Certificate of Competence) the preparation course will be over 6 days and cost £650. The exam will take place at the end of the course and will take 6-10 hours for 1 candidate, 8-14 hours for 2 candidates. The examiner cannot examine more than two candidates in a 24 hour period, the exam may therefore carry on into a second day if there are more than 2 candidates on board.

They also run ‘milebuilder’ courses where we will provide tuition on any area of the RYA practical syllabuses that you identify.  These trips are useful for those who are looking to log the miles  required for the Yachtmaster Coastal or Offshore exam.  These are individually priced.

For those of you in the North East of Scotland wishing to gain RYA theory qualifications, we work with Coast and Cairn. Details are available on their website.
